Program to empower the Samurdhi beneficiaries in 2026
There are 05 samurdhi banking societies in the Kuliyapitiya western secretariat division. There are about 6044 families that come with Samurdhi benefits. It will provide empowerment of 416 beneficiaries.
i Compulsory savings:
It is credited to the beneficiary's bank account and should have completed one of the following criteria to get the money.
- 70 Years Completion
- A child is a university student
- A particular disease (kidney, cancer, stroke)
ii Social Security:
Payment of a monthly scholarship allowance of Rs. 3,000 for a period of two years to G.C.E. Advanced Level students from families that previously received welfare assistance but have since lost that eligibility.
iii Livelihood development programs
Maximum amount not deductible for empowering the families selected at the Grama Niladari level under the Treasury Grant is Rs. The equipment is provided for 45000, providing equipment for equipment, goods, materials, animals and buildings.
- Providing livelihood loans through Samurdhi Banks (maximum 500,000 interest 12%)
- Providing livelihood development loans through samurdhi banks (maximum 500,000 - interest 12%)
Samurdhi Social Development Programs
Construction of Drug Prevention Flags Fund on May 31
This fund carries out the following programs.
- Construction of low income houses
- Drug prevention programs
- Home repairs
- Improvement of toilets
- Providing school equipments
In addition to the above programs, the following programs are implemented with the guidance and financial allocations of the Department.
- Implementation of counseling programs
- Establishment of samurdhi children's clubs, conducting competitions and taking them to national level, conducting child leadership training programs.
